Notes:
Pakistan is an impoverished and underdeveloped nation. A small, wealthy minority controls much of the land and economy.

Approximately one fourth of people live below the poverty line.

Political influence of a radical Islamic minority with close relations to the Taliban in Afghanistan has increased substantially over the past several years.

Persecution and terror toward Christians and Westerners has increased significantly since 2001.

Tensions with India over Kashmir remain and have created a growing fear of a regional arms race.

Prayer:
Pray for the government – that a real democracy would be built, that it will look out for the people, and that it will not tolerate corruption; pray for leaders of integrity and bind a spirit of lawlessness.

Pray that the influence of Islam will be broken.

Pray for the protection, multiplication, and fellowship of Christians converting from a Muslim background, as many may face martyrdom for professing faith in Christ.

160 ethnic and 40 language groups are still unreached. Pakistan is one of the greatest challenges for missions. Pray for more missionaries to be sent to this country and for strength and protection for the ones already ministering in Pakistan.
